Front Street Art Gallery Hosts “Discover the Artists of Tomorrow -
Scituate High School Show” March 3rd to 28 the
sponsored by the Scituate Arts Association (SAA)

Front Street Art Gallery is proud to serve as the venue of the annual Scituate High School art exhibit, “Discover the Artists of Tomorrow” hosted by the Scituate Arts Association (SAA) from March 3rd to the 28th. A Sunday opening is planned for March 6th.  Students, families and friends are invited to view the art at the Gallery and vote for their favorite piece (People’s Choice Award).

This year’s show will exhibit wall relief pieces, 3-D constructions, and hanging works.  The student art exhibit provides an opportunity for aspiring young artists to display their works in a professional gallery setting.  Students choose their pieces and prepare to show them.  Thanks and praises go to their teachers - Julie Hickey, Jessica Maguire and Sheryl Pace who agreed who mentor this show with their students. Also, thanks to Dave Petty of Hanover Frame Center for his donation of framing material for our SHS show.

The SHS Art Department and students would like to dedicate this year's student exhibition to Stacey Hendrickson.  Stacey retired from teaching art this past summer and much of the work on display in this show is a direct result of the vibrancy, enthusiasm and high expectations Stacey inspired in her students.  Stacey was so generous and inspiring for over 30 years as a beloved art teacher, mentor and colleague in the Scituate Public Schools; this exhibition is in honor of her.
