"A Touch of Red"

From Thursday May 6th to Sunday May 30th, the Front Street Art Gallery will feature “A Touch of Red”, a gallery members’ show.  The walls and panels will be filled with red rosy sunrises, poppies and other flowers showing off a touch of red to signal the arriving summer, male cardinals and their mates beginning to nest, and all things that are touched with a spot of red.  Come, browse and chose something to brighten your heart now that the world is reopening!

Candace Clark, one of the Gallery artists, learned freehand bronze, stenciling, theorem painting, primitive painting, and reverse painting on glass as well as other techniques from her mother-in-law, a Master Craftsman Antique Decorator.  She found these processes exacting and somewhat restrictive.  Looking for more freedom in her painting, she tried oil painting, monoprinting, computer graphics, abstract painting and encaustic.  For the last few years, Candace has studied watercolor with Mary Beth LoPiccolo.

Currently, she is enjoying the challenge of watercolor and alcohol ink on Yupo paper which provides a luminous and somewhat abstract quality to her paintings.

Come, browse and chose one of the selected show pieces for yourself.

Masks required.
